Aan de voet van de Zeelandbrug die Noord-Beveland verbindt met het meest noordelijke deel van Zeeland, Schouwen-Duiveland, ligt Colijnsplaat. Het dorp is gesticht in 1598. Met de ligging aan de Oosterschelde beschikt Colijnsplaat al sinds jaar en dag over een haven. Oorsponkelijk voor de aan- en afvoer van landbouwprodukten, maar sinds 1961 ook in gebruik als vissershaven. De vismijn van Colijnsplaat heeft de grootste garnalenomzet van Nederland! . Naast beroepsvaart is er in Colijnsplaat ook genoeg ruimte voor de pleziervaart.

Fishing port Colijnsplaat

Near the Zeeland bridge which connects North-Beveland with the northern most part of the province of Zeeland, Schouwen-Duivenland lies Colijnsplaat. Built in 1598, with its location on the Oosterschelde, Colijnsplaat has served as a harbor for many years. Originally, Colijnsplaat was a center for the transportation of agriculture products, but beginning in 1961 it has also served as a fishing port and has the largest volume of shrimp traffic in the Netherlands. In addition to commercial shipping ,Colijnsplaat also serves as a location for sailing and other recreational water sports
